Hidden Secrets: A New Yorker’s Guide to Life

November 23rd, 2010 |  Published in About New York, Eating Out, Entertainment, Living in New York
by

One of the first things you’ll notice about living in New York is the role that word-of-mouth suggestions play in your daily life.  Friends are the best guidebooks, and though our restaurant critics are lauded with celebrity status, recommendations from someone you’ve had a drink with usually hold much more value.  With that said, your friends at Become a New Yorker would like to share some of our hidden secrets in a recurring post of the same name.  Look for tips on everything from our favorite watering holes to the best place to get your shoes repaired.  (Don’t laugh, a good cobbler is like a good doctor in this walking city.)

Have any secret requests?  Let the team know in the comments.  We look forward to divulging shortly.
